Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi Movie Review

I loved this movie!!!!I loved the story too.And Mr.Khan and Anushka Sharma were doin a great job.I loved there rolls.This movie was the one of my favourites.It is just AWSOME!!!!!!!!!

What can I say, RNBDJ is the best film I've watched this year. It will definitely beat Aamir's film by far.

Shah Rukh Khan will always be number 1 in my eyes. I've been his fan since 1996, which is when I watched my first bollywood film starring him -Dil Se.

My favourite SRK film is Devdas, although Kal Ho Na Ho always makes me cry and I absolutely love RNBDJ.

It's simply superb!! although it doesn't give the magic which DDLJ gave... it creat magic.. I think for performing a simple normal indian male without giving any clue of our king khan Mr. Khan deserve the black lady this year too...
Anushka is really good for a new comer but honestly she couldn't create the magic I needed... a few minute screening magic with Kajol & Rani made that whole feeling even for a few second.. way to go girl.. Don't become another Ayshwarya without any expression on your face... but you are good.. Mr. Adi I am so angry with you for not giving us chance to cry more.. The girls part in thume rab diktha hain.. you should put some more there when tears are ready to blast the song was over... Overall .. Movie is A Super Hit with My very own SRK.. He is the king wzout any doubt and he know how to personalize the charactors even Sani in TRDH or Raj ya Rahul.. or Om.. he know how to creat magic... He is the best ...

In a nutshell she said it's a breathtaking film. The acting of Shah Rukh khan is amazing. The directing is invigorating...an overflowing humanity, a devastating humour and a contagious poetry.
It's interesting at the end of the review there is a glossary for the people who don't know about the indian references.

Après avoir pulvérisé le record d'exploitation d'un film en salles avec Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge et remis sur le marché du travail Amitabh Bachchan avec le succès de Mohabbatein, Aditya Chopra, depuis producteur, retourne après huit ans d'absence derrière la caméra avec panache. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, entre réalisme et magie, est une fable vivifiante dans le panorama du cinéma. Aditya se réinvente en nous offrant une œuvre touchante et éclatante de simplicité mais aussi redoutable par sa comédie, ses chorégraphies et par l'interprétation de Shah Rukh Khan...méconnaissable !

Il y a à Amritsar la magnifique, Surinder (Shah Rukh Khan), un indien ordinaire (intégrant toutes options : moustache, lunettes, costume et basket). Très réservé et peu expressif, il ne poursuit qu'un but : être l'objet de désir de son épouse. Malheureusement uni par la tragédie, l'amour n'est point réciproque et Surinder doit créer un avatar aux antipodes de sa personne en la figure de Raj. Ainsi, c'est dans le centre spirituel sikh, avec son lumineux temple d'or, que cette histoire de quête d'un amour divin nous est contée.

Ce film, aux allures intimistes et à la fois de fresque majestueuse, décrivant le quotidien, repose sur trois personnages dont la performance de Shah Rukh Khan. Transcendé, il incarne un homme commun, décrit avec finesse dans les excès : à la fois discret ou désinhibé. Son personnage prend possession de l'acteur, au point où on lui découvre des expressions nouvelles et un langage corporel inédit. Un plan séquence mémorable de Shah Rukh, grimé en Raj, se morigénant par le biais d'un mannequin portant ses vêtements usuels est l'illustration de la magnificence de son jeu. Il crée ainsi un héros touchant et antinomique à mille lieux du fade Clark Kent. La magie du King Khan opère. Il embaume ainsi le film de son aura.

La comédie est ici infaillible par son inventivité constante. La scène de Surinder et de son « tiffin » jaune (panier-repas), préparé par son épouse et représentant à ses yeux l'amour de sa femme a un impact fatal sur Surinder et hilirant pour nous spectateur. Cette simple attention affectueuse a pour résultat de provoquer l'émoi de Surinder souligné par la déclinaison de l'usage de la couleur jaune à toutes les sauces. De même, la musique s'insinue dans chaque pore du film et participe à accentuer le comique. Surinder et son dilemme de la rose, Surinder face à son biryani, la poursuite à moto façon western avec des « dégainages » de sac à main accompagnée par l'air de « Dhoom machale »...autant de scènes cocasses et réussies où la musique de fond vient épicer la comédie.

L'autre attrait de ce masala, ancré au Punjab, faisant fi des montagnes suisses et mêlant les genres avec acuité reste une mise en abyme constante où apparaît un florilège de références au cinéma indien. Ainsi, si la musique rythme le film, joue un rôle de vecteur comique et poétique, elle participe à l'instar des décors, costumes, dialogues... à la création de multiples clins d'œil filmiques. La séquence musicale de « Hum Hain Raahi Pyaare Ke, Phir Milenge, Chalte Chalte » en est un vibrant exemple. Un hommage grandiose au cinéma indien y est déployé avec une introduction à la Vincente Minelli. Shah Rukh Khan interprète tour à tour des acteurs légendaires des années 50 à 80 avec pour chacun des clins d'œil à certains de leurs films : Raj kapoor (Shree 420), Dev Anand (Tere ghar ke samne), Shammi Kapoor (Teesri manzil , Junglee), Rajesh Khanna (Aradhana , Aap ki kasam , Amar Prem) et Rishi Kapoor (Hum kisise kum naheen).Et cerise sur le gâteau, cinq actrices accompagnent Shah Rukh : Kajol, Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta, Preity Zinta et Rani Mukherjee. Autant dire que le Om Shanti Om de Farah Khan a marqué le cinéma indien et a créé par le pastiche une figure de style cinématographique.

Si la deuxième partie du film subit une baisse de régime et que quelques faiblesses sont visibles RNBDJ reste un divertissement jouissif. Tout néophyte à la cinéphilie indienne pourra se délecter de ce long-métrage à l'humanité débordante, à l'humour dévastateur et à la poésie contagieuse. Une production Yash Raj à découvrir ou à revoir pour le travail admirable de la chorégraphe Vaibhavi Merchant, la créativité de son réalisateur, des dialogues mémorables : « Je suis amoureux mais elle ne m'aime pas » « Deux gifles et elle t'aimera » et surtout pour la virtuosité de Shah Rukh Khan !

Poudre rouge sur le front (sindoor) : le sindoor indique le statut de femme mariée.

Kabhi alvida naa kehna (Ne dis jamais au revoir) : Film avec Shah Rukh Khan.
Hum Hain Raahi Pyaare Ke, Phir Milenge, Chalte Chalte (Nous sommes des voyageurs sur le chemin de l'amour, le temps passera et nous nous retrouverons) : Leitmotiv du personnage de Raj et titre d'une chanson du film rendant hommage au cinéma indien. Rakhi : Fil que les sœurs nouent sur le poignet de leur frère à la célébration de Raksha Bandha. Le rakhi peut-être aussi noué pour des occasions spéciales et n'est pas uniquement réservé à la fratrie.

Hats off to Aditya and his phenomenal direction. Shahrukh is a great actor but Aditya pulled him to his best. Music was great. I saw this movie for 6 times and still feel hungry. All the songs are great esp. Tuz me rab dikhta hai...is touching.....

didn't like the movie.. i guess it lacked something.. nd couldn't agree with the concept of seeing god in your beloved.. not that I don't like srk..i like him.. but not the movie..

amazingly awesome movie...the acting was mindblwoing...anushka was great even though it was her debut..she loooked like a proffesional...and srk of course SUPERB ACTOR....deff a SUPPERHIT....soundtrack and music was flawless as well...a perfect movie!

kingkhan is the best, he proves this over and over again, this film is oviously the best film of 2008, aswell as the biggest hit of 2008, over taking sing is king by far, this shows srk is still number 1 at the boxoffice,this film is realistic and no bad point about it.

i loved this movie i went to the theaters to watch it and i found anushka was very good but shahrukh was the best he did his role so perfectly i love him alot and rab ne bana di jodi was the best movie of 2008 hats off to him all i could say to ppl is that go watch the movie not because of srk but the movie is soooo good the songs were also very good especially tuj mein rab dikhta hai
